Living Jazz, founded in 1984 and based in Oakland, California, designs and delivers music education and performance programs within the performing arts landscape. The organization aims to build confidence, responsibility, and ambition in children while motivating people of all ages and backgrounds to pursue personal and creative potential, and to bring diverse communities together through jazz and related genres. Its current offerings include Jazz Camp West, Jam Camp West, In the Name of Love, an annual tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Living Jazz Children's Project, and Jazz Search West.
