LIFE ANEW RESTORATIVE JUSTICE is a nonprofit organization operating in the civic and social sector, focused on using restorative justice methods to address harms and protect victims within families and communities. Since 2009, the organization has trained professionals and community leaders to facilitate processes that aim for real and lasting positive life changes, particularly in cases involving family violence and its broader impacts on intimate partners, children, the elderly, and local communities. In 2014, Life Anew expanded its work into local schools by deploying Restorative Practices Coordinators who train school staff, students, parents, and volunteers to engage in conversations that foster meaningful relationships and transformative outcomes. A notable development in 2022 was a partnership with local nonprofits and the Office of Violence Prevention to launch ATX Peace, a Community Violence Intervention and Prevention program designed to reduce gun violence and retaliation in Travis County and nearby areas. Based in Austin, Texas, Life Anew operates within the nonprofit space with a regional impact and an evolving ecosystem approach intended for replication beyond its local area.
