Lewis Taylor Farms Inc is a farming company based in Tifton, Georgia, that operates in vegetable production and greenhouse farming. The company traces its origins to the 1930s, when it began as a transplant producer serving the Southeastern United States, and it has grown into one of the largest privately owned vegetable and greenhouse operations in the Southeast. In 1985 ownership was transferred from the founding families to Bill Brim and Ed Walker, who reorganized the business; by 1989 they built the first greenhouses, and two years later began growing produce; four years after that they established the first of two packing facilities. Today, Lewis Taylor Farms grows more than 6,500 acres of produce per year, operates 81 greenhouses totaling just under 900,000 square feet of growing space, and uses six center-pivot irrigation systems to manage all of its 80 million pine seedlings annually. The company employs between 11 and 50 people and maintains a presence in the Southeastern U.S. farming sector.
