Les Maîtres Laitiers du Cotentin is a Normandy-based dairy cooperative that collects, processes, and distributes fresh dairy products. Founded in 1986 after a period of cooperative restructuring, the organization sources milk from about 600 farms and handles roughly 477 million liters per year. Its operations span three production sites—Sottevast for fresh cheese, Valognes for pressed cheese, and Méautis for infant formula—and four collection depots, with a workforce described as several hundred employees. About 70% of its output is sold under distributor brands to large and mid-sized retailers and hard-discount chains, while around 30% is carried under its own labels such as Valco, Maîtres Laitiers, Montebourg, Val de Saire and Campagne de France.
