The Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) is a national association of the leaders of Catholic women religious congregations in the United States. It counts more than 1,500 members, representing over 80 percent of the roughly 57,000 women religious in the country. Founded in 1956 and based in Silver Spring, Maryland, LCWR operates within the religious institutions sector to support leadership and mission. 

The organization collaborates with the church and broader society to influence systemic change, studies significant trends affecting church and society, and speaks collectively in solidarity with people who experience violence or oppression. It also develops leadership resources and serves both its members and the public seeking information on leadership for religious life. A recent development is a partnership with Holy Union Sisters in Atlanta.
