LEAD STL is a St. Louis–based nonprofit focused on youth development and social change. With a programmatic emphasis on identity, empathy, civic engagement, and advocacy, it guides middle school through college-aged youth to become thoughtful, courageous leaders who can bridge divides and drive systemic change. The organization originated to foster understanding between Black and Jewish students but now serves a broader mix of backgrounds, maintaining a commitment to accessibility through a sliding scale tuition model. Over more than two decades, LEAD STL has helped more than 700 alumni pursue roles in community organizing, education, public service, and related fields. It operates within the civic and social sector, aiming to build a more just and equitable region by preparing young people to engage in social and political processes.
