L'Alliance New York is a mid-sized nonprofit based in New York City that develops and delivers education and arts programming centered on French culture. Its mission is to foster cross-cultural dialogue and explore the diversity and richness of French culture through partnerships and new platforms of expression. Located in a Beaux Arts building on the Upper East Side, the complex includes the Haskell Library—the most comprehensive private French library in the United States—along with a 400-seat Florence Gould Hall Theater, a Tinker Auditorium, Le Skyroom with a demonstration kitchen, and a gallery. The language center serves thousands of students learning French, and the organization supports live performances and a year-round French cinema series through Florence Gould Hall Theater and CinéSalon. In July 2024, L'Alliance New York announced an expansion of its preschool program to Montclair, New Jersey, indicating growth beyond its New York City base.
