Kromek Group plc is a mid-sized technology company that develops radiation detection solutions using cadmium zinc telluride-based sensor materials for medical imaging, nuclear monitoring, and security screening. The company provides an end-to-end offering that spans CZT crystal growth through to finished products, including software, electronics, and specialized integrated circuits, backed by a broad patent portfolio. Headquartered in Durham, England, it maintains operations in the United States and sells internationally through distributors and direct OEM channels.

Its technology yields high-resolution information about material composition and structure to aid the identification of cancerous tissues and hazardous materials, including explosives, as well as the analysis of radioactive materials. In March 2026, Kromek announced a collaboration with Argon Electronics to develop a dedicated simulator module and training simulator for its D5 RIID handheld device.
