KIPP Chicago is a Chicago-based educational organization within the Knowledge Is Power Program network. It operates eight primary and middle schools on the West and South Sides, serving about 3,500 students from kindergarten through eighth grade and providing ongoing guidance to more than 2,600 alumni through the KIPP Forward program. Founded in 2003, the organization combines rigorous academics with character development to prepare students for success in top high schools and universities and to become active contributors in their communities.
