JustFund operates in the philanthropic fundraising sector from its base in Birds Landing, California. It provides a platform that links funders with frontline social-change groups, focusing on expanding access for BIPOC-led organizations. The platform supports a single application that can be used for multiple funding opportunities, at no cost and in perpetuity, and is described as the nation's first and only Common Application platform for philanthropy.

Since its 2017 launch, JustFund reports that over $280 million has moved to mostly Black communities, especially in the US South, and to organizations with budgets under $500,000. The platform is used by about 170 collaborative and pooled funds, along with corporate and national foundations. In 2022, JustFund announced the appointment of a Vice President of Philanthropy and Impact.
