Jupiter Group operates in the paper and forest products sector, supplying paper and paperboard to Sri Lanka’s printing, publishing, converting and packaging industries. Over four decades, it has built a global supplier and customer base and is described as the largest supplier of paper and paperboard to these local markets. The company is based in Borella, Western Province, Sri Lanka, and began expanding internationally with an office in Chennai, India in 1995, through collaborations with DuroCell International and Jupiter Agencies (India) to supply paper, paperboard and recycled fibre across India and parts of Bangladesh.
Jupiter Group diversified into the polythene sector, forming Jupiter Packaging to manufacture printed and plain HDPE, PP and LDPE bags and films for local and export packaging industries. The group has also entered the pharmaceutical and coir industries, operates in Sri Lanka under the Waterman Pen franchise, and its Jupiter Pharma unit represents BioPharma in Bangladesh. In 2011, Jupiter Group established a subsidiary in the United States, and it maintains an exclusive partnership with Gruppo Cordenons of Italy for Sri Lanka’s fine paper sector.
