Junior Achievement of Memphis and the Mid-South is a non-profit organization based in Memphis, Tennessee, founded in 1955, focused on educating students about entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy. It delivers experiential, hands-on programs intended to help students develop skills and confidence to pursue economic success. The programs reach more than 25,000 students each year across the Greater Memphis area and are delivered by volunteers from business, higher education, families, and retirees. The organization’s reach extends to 71 counties across Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas, reflecting a broader regional scope. In November 2025, it launched a career initiative named Made in Memphis and Beyond in partnership with the Greater Memphis Chamber and Morgan Steel to connect students with pathways in industries such as construction, healthcare, technology, and supply chain management. The organization employs a relatively small staff complemented by a large volunteer base that serves as the foundation of its programs.
