Journal Communications, headquartered in Milwaukee, is a media company leading the way in publishing, radio and television broadcasting, digital media and printing services. 

We’re definitely not your grandfather’s newspaper business.  Today, through Journal Broadcast Group, we own and operate 35 radio stations and 13 television stations in 11 states.  We publish the award-winning Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and 19 community newspapers and magazines in Wisconsin.  From mobile tools to iPad apps, our growing digital media assets build on the strength of our publishing and broadcasting brands, helping us deliver news and entertainment to all our local communities across the country.

Founded in 1882, we began with a tradition of publishing excellence that evolved into a tradition of broadcast excellence.  In 1891, we were the first to print a color newspaper, and in 1927, we were the first fully equipped radio station in Milwaukee when WTMJ-AM signed on.  In 2003, we went public and began trading as “JRN” on the New York Stock Exchange.
