KIRK is a Scottish name for a church. We gather to experience and share God's wildly abundant love in south Kansas City and beyond. The Kirk is a safe place where questioning is welcome, where you are not required to abandon your intellect or your doubts while you deepen your sense of faith. We affirm the universal and unconditional love of God in Jesus Christ; an emerging, inclusive Christian path emphasizing the God who never gives up on anyone, who never leaves anyone behind. This understanding of the Gospel calls us to welcome all who seek Christ into our fellowship and to honor them for who they are. It also reminds us to keep reaching out to those who are not yet with us. John Knox Kirk has a rich history of compassionate people who give their time, talent, and support to help members of our congregation, community, and world.
