Jefferson Elementary School District is a public education system serving PK–8 students in four adjacent communities of San Mateo County: Daly City, Colma, Broadmoor Village, and a portion of Pacifica. Founded in 1866, the district has evolved into a campus-wide complex that includes a state preschool, eleven elementary schools, three intermediate schools, a district office, and maintenance facilities dispersed across its service area. The district serves about 5,900 students from varied socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, with more than twenty languages represented within the community. Based in the Daly City region, the district sits within a diverse coastal and Bay Area context that shapes its schools. As a public K–8 system, it coordinates multiple school sites under a single administration to deliver education across its four communities.
