İpragaz A.Ş. operates in the oil and gas sector in Turkey and is headquartered in Küçükbakkalköy, Istanbul. The company traces its origins to 1961 as Eureka Metal A.Ş., established the first LPG filling plant and filling stations in 1962 in İzmit-Yarımca, and became İpragaz A.Ş. after merging with Türkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortaklığı in 1966. After privatization in 1992, İpragaz consolidated with Primagaz, and in 1999 Primagaz was acquired by SHV Energy, making İpragaz part of the SHV Group, the largest LPG distributor globally. İpragaz is presented as a leader in Turkey's LPG sector, with a broad dealer network of over 3,000 dealers and a workforce reported between 501 and 1000 employees. The company has operated an autogas station network, with more than 400 stations noted as of 2007, and has introduced a branding initiative in the energy sector named GO Yakıt.
