IntraMicron, Inc. is an engineering technology development and manufacturing company located in Auburn, AL that serves the aerospace, chemicals, defense, and energy sectors. IntraMicron’s primary technology and product areas include structured materials, thermal management of reactive and non-reactive systems, and modular desulfurization solutions. IntraMicron was founded in 2001 to commercialize the microfibrous materials technology and associated heterogeneous catalysis/adsorption technologies developed at Auburn University through an exclusive worldwide foreground and background technology license. IntraMicron bolstered this intellectual property portfolio by developing process intensification technologies centered around microfibrous materials and their ability to dramatically enhance heat and mass transport in highly enthalpic reactive systems. IntraMicron is currently implementing these solutions to promote the scalable production of liquid fuels and fine chemicals in modular process intensified systems. IntraMicron’s modular desulfurization solutions are complementary to these activities by providing an economical method to desulfurize distributed sulfur-containing energy resources. In 2016 IntraMicron formed Sour Gas LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary, to commercialize its modular catalytic desulfurization technology, SourCatTM, in the oil and gas sector.
