The International Latino Cultural Center of Chicago is a small nonprofit arts organization based in Chicago, Illinois, that supports and presents a wide range of Latino artistic forms. Its programming encompasses film, music, dance, visual arts, comedy, and theater, designed to develop and promote awareness of Latino cultures among Latinos and other communities. By presenting culturally diverse work, the center seeks to challenge stereotypes and broaden the definition of Latino identity. Founded in 1987 as Chicago Latino Cinema, the organization earned nonprofit status and later expanded its offerings in 1999, adopting its current name to reflect broader programming. The center organizes more than ten annual events, including the Chicago Latino Film Festival, which is its flagship program. A notable recent development is the retirement of founder and Executive Director Pepe Vargas on June 30, 2026, after more than four decades leading the institution.
