The International Institute for Energy Conservation (IIEC) is a United States–based consulting and services organization focused on expanding energy efficiency as a core element of clean energy strategies, with a particular emphasis on developing countries. Founded in 1984, it maintains a global presence through regional offices to align international energy efficiency policy with local needs and conditions. The organization has contributed to reductions in energy use totaling more than 300 megawatts and has supported economic development in the regions it serves. It collaborates with stakeholders across sectors to link policy and practical implementation in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable development. In April 2024, a partnership with the Energy Transition Partnership enabled IIEC to organize a two-day training on Demand Side Management in Manila, Philippines, demonstrating ongoing activity in capacity-building and knowledge transfer. Overall, IIEC is a small to mid-sized firm that works across sectors to apply international energy efficiency practices to local contexts.
