The International Association for Impact Assessment is a nonprofit organization that serves as an international forum for advancing innovation and the communication of best practices across all forms of impact assessment. It aims to build local, regional, and global capacity in environmental, social, health, and related assessments, with an emphasis on sound science and broad public participation to support equitable and sustainable development. The organization is based in Fargo, North Dakota, and serves a global membership involved in impact assessment practice and policy. IAIA has engaged with international forums and events, including participation in an OECD financial practitioners workshop in February 2026 and the release of the First Announcement for its 46th Annual Conference in April 2026. In December 2025, IAIA formed a partnership with the Global Commons Alliance to broaden its cross-border impact assessment networks.
