ILPA is a trade association focused exclusively on the private markets’ limited partner community. It represents more than 575 institutions that together oversee over $2 trillion in private markets assets, spanning public pensions, corporate pensions, endowments, foundations, family offices, insurers, and sovereign wealth funds worldwide. Through education, advocacy, the development of standards and best practices, and networking, the organization aims to enhance investment outcomes and the overall health of private markets. Headquartered in Washington, DC, ILPA operates within the venture capital and private equity principal ecosystem as the LP-focused industry body. It provides guidance and standardized templates for reporting, capital calls, and other disclosures to members, supporting more transparent and consistent GP–LP interactions. In 2026 it introduced the Continuation Fund Disclosure Template to standardize transparency in continuation fund transactions.
