Founded in 1936, the Institute of Contemporary Art Boston is a mid-sized museum that centers contemporary art within civic life. It operates on two sites along Boston Harbor, offering year-round programming at its Seaport building and seasonal programming at Watershed in East Boston from May through September, to present exhibitions, performances, and educational programs that engage diverse audiences with the artistic process.

The ICA Boston aims to amplify artists’ voices and broaden art’s role as educator, incubator, and convener for social engagement.
