The Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP) is a Brussels-based think tank focused on environmental policy and sustainability within the European context. Established in 1976, it operates as an independent, evidence-driven organization that provides analysis to help navigate European environmental policy and inform sustainability policy across the EU and beyond. The institute conducts multidisciplinary work across agri-food, biodiversity, land use, trade, climate, and circular economy, collaborating with EU institutions, international bodies, academia, and civil society to offer integrated perspectives on policy challenges. It coordinates networks and platforms such as Think Sustainable Europe and Think2030, and engages with initiatives including the Green Trade Network, the EU Wellbeing Economy Coalition, and the European Sustainable Agriculture Dialogue. IEEP’s activities emphasize thought leadership on topics like revised CAP concepts and market mechanisms in relation to agriculture, while maintaining partnerships with universities to offer student placements.
