Based in Maynooth, Leinster, Ireland, the Innovation Value Institute (IVI) is a research organization founded in 2006 through a collaboration between Maynooth University and Intel to transform IT capability management. Operating in the research services sector, IVI conducts empirical research and develops industry-validated IT management practices. Through its open, practitioner-academic consortium, the institute develops and disseminates frameworks and methods for realizing IT value and IT-enabled innovation, with a current focus on extending the IT Capability Maturity Framework (IT-CMF).

IVI serves organizations seeking structured, validated approaches to improve IT governance and value realization, leveraging a collaborative ecosystem of peers. Its consortium model brings together academia and industry to investigate, advance, and share practical frameworks and practices related to IT value and innovation. In January 2026, IVI digitally launched the ESG Data Governance Playbook, reflecting ongoing development of its offerings.
