Based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the Indoor Football League (IFL) is a professional indoor football organization established in 2009. It ranks as the longest continually operating indoor football league in the United States and the second-longest-running professional football league behind the NFL. The game is played on a 50-yard indoor field with dasher boards and eight players per side, delivering rapid, nonstop action. The league has a national footprint with 14 teams and operations in eight of the top 50 media markets, serving as a platform for players, coaches, and other professionals, including more than 350 athletes who have moved on to NFL or CFL opportunities. Led by Commissioner Todd Tryon, the IFL has pursued expansion and brand growth, and in January 2026 announced the inaugural IFL Cup to be held at American Dream.
