The Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS) is a nonprofit voluntary membership organization that brings together independent schools in the Southwest, including Arizona, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and parts of Mexico. Founded in 1955, ISAS aims to uphold high professional and ethical standards of educational excellence and administers an accreditation program to verify member schools meet those standards. As a regional voice, ISAS fosters collegial relationships among its members and represents their interests with external bodies. ISAS operates with a small staff to support accreditation activities, member communications, and professional development. It coordinates communication among member schools, fosters positive relationships with education agencies and higher education institutions, and conducts joint student programs in the arts and other areas; in November 2023, Kingshott joined ISAS's leadership.
