The Independent Drivers Guild is a nonprofit organization based in Long Island City, New York, that aims to protect, support, and connect New York's independent drivers. As a Machinists Union affiliate, it represents all current and future Uber drivers in New York City, a community of 35,000. It has positioned itself as the first driver association to negotiate a seat at the table with a transportation network company to offer protections and benefits while bringing drivers together.

In a regulatory environment where courts have restricted app-based drivers from organizing as a traditional union, the Guild emphasizes collective action as a route to better working conditions and earnings. It operates within the civic and social organizations sector, aiming to connect drivers and advocate for protections and practical benefits in New York City.
