ILKO was founded by pharmacist and honorary president Mustafa Öncel, who has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for almost 50 years. The company is a subsidiary of Selçuklu Holding, which has strong institutions across various economic sectors.
 
Öncel is one of Turkey’s second-generation pharmacists and has always been faithful to his vision of being useful to human health. Characterized by honesty, big thinking, foresightedness and courage, he founded the production plant of ILKO in Konya, thus blazing a trail and fulfilling a duty of loyalty to his hometown. 

The production facility which is the largest pharmaceutical manufacturing investment in Anatolia is placed in Konya Third Organized Industrial Zone. The company has its headquarters in Sancaktepe, Istanbul, and R&D center – İlko Araştırma ve Geliştirme Merkezi A.Ş. – in Beytepe Technopark of Hacettepe University in Ankara.
