The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast is a private non-profit animal welfare organization based in Palm City, Florida. It operates as an open admissions shelter that cares for more than 5,000 animals each year and relies solely on private donations. The organization is independent of other humane societies and the Humane Society of the United States, and it does not euthanize animals to make space or on the basis of breed. In addition to adoption services, HSTC provides low-cost spay/neuter services, obedience and agility training, pet therapy, and community education, along with disaster preparedness programs. It runs two thrift stores, collaborates with Martin County Animal Control on a community TNVR program, and partners with more than 20 local non-profits to support the broader community. Through this mix of programs and partnerships, the organization serves the Treasure Coast region with a comprehensive approach to animal welfare and neighbor support.
