THE HOFFMAN METHOD
At the heart of Hoffman Academy is the Hoffman Method - a complete music education system focused on deep mastery and musical fluency, all while nurturing a life-long love for music making through artistic musical expression. Developed by master educator Joseph Hoffman, the Hoffman Method guides students to play their earliest songs "by ear" in an intuitive sequence modeled after language acquisition. The experience of music - from singing notes to patting out rhythms - connects directly to a young musician’s natural love of music and prepares them for the sight reading, dictation, transposition, and other aspects of music theory featured in later lessons. The Hoffman Method makes the complicated seem natural. Because Mr. Hoffman focuses on real music making and fun from the start (students play their first song in the first lesson!), students want to keep learning, lesson after lesson.
