Hispanic Unity of Florida, Inc. (HUF) is a mid-sized nonprofit based in Hollywood, in South Florida, founded in 1982 to assist immigrants and refugees as they navigate life in the United States. It stands as the region’s largest nonprofit focused on immigrant communities, offering 12 programs and more than 30 services delivered in four languages. The organization emphasizes a family-centered two-generation approach, engaging children and parents together to support social and economic stability and move families toward self-sufficiency. Its mission is to empower immigrants and others to become self-sufficient, productive, and civically engaged. HUF serves immigrant families facing the challenges of adapting to a new culture, providing tools and guidance to improve well-being and belonging. Since its inception, it has served more than 553,500 individuals. In addition to direct services, the organization engages the broader community through events such as its Annual Entrepreneur Summit, with the 12th edition presented in 2025. It has also collaborated with local partners to expand access to social programs, for example helping people apply for Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, Florida KidCare, and SNAP.
