Headframe Spirits is a micro-distillery in the food and beverage services industry, located at 21 South Montana Street in Uptown Butte, Montana, with 11-50 employees. Founded in 2010 by John and Courtney McKee, the company opened its tasting room in 2012 and operates from the Schumacher Building at the confluence of four lodes of ore, tying its identity to Butte's mining history. Its spirits are named after headframes and mines in local history, including Orphan Girl Bourbon Cream Liqueur, Neversweat Bourbon, High Ore Vodka, Anselmo Gin, Destroying Angel Rye Whiskey, and several limited editions. In 2018 the company processed 142,000 pounds of Montana milled grain, distilled 12,878 gallons of various spirits, and packaged over 60,000 bottles for distribution within Montana and to 16 other states. Headframe Spirits Manufacturing has introduced continuous flow distillation with column stills manufactured in Butte, capable of processing about 1,000 gallons of fermented wash per day, and these stills are sold to micro-distilleries in the United States, Canada, and the UK.
