Harvard Model Congress is a 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit founded in 1986 and based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It operates the nation’s oldest model government conference, organized and run by Harvard College undergraduates. Its programs target high school students within the primary and secondary education sector, offering a structured way to understand civic involvement and government function. Participants are required to assume the roles of real-life congressmen, senators, and government officials, engaging with federal issues through a range of congressional committees and specialized program groups. Since its Boston program, HMC has expanded to five sister conferences in Europe, Asia, San Francisco, Dubai, and Latin America, extending its reach beyond a single campus.
