Sustainability Opportunity HEI has experience with energy audits, energy studies, energy upgrades, and projects aligned with LEED certification and Minnesota Sustainable Design Guidelines. This positions them well to upsell energy efficiency, green building certifications, and utility incentive projects for potential clients pursuing sustainability goals.

Education Sector Focus HEI’s portfolio includes higher education and K-12 environments, offering mechanical, electrical, and commissioning services. Targeted outreach to universities, school districts, and campus facilities departments could yield recurring engineering and commissioning engagements for new buildings, retrofits, and infrastructure upgrades.

National Reach With professionals registered in 49 states and a nationwide client base, HEI can entertain multi-site or national rollouts for clients in varied sectors, making them a candidate for large-scale facility programs, centralized commissioning, and standardized engineering guidelines across campuses and facilities.

Compliance and Certification SBE certified in multiple Minnesota agencies and local authorities signals criteria-friendly capabilities for public sector projects. This can be leveraged to win government and transportation projects requiring certified small business participation or priority consideration in bidding processes.

Tech and Collaboration Adoption of modern tools and platforms (Google Cloud, Office 365, Sentry) plus design and commissioning services suggests opportunities to offer data-driven building analytics, energy-tracking dashboards, and post-occupancy optimization services to existing clients and new clients seeking digital building management.
