The Governor's Early Literacy Foundation is a small nonprofit based in Nashville, Tennessee, operating in the education administration sector with a focus on early literacy. Its work aims to strengthen literacy for young children by providing guidance, peer advisory, and catalytic support to literacy programs across the state. The organization collaborates with schools and state partners to broaden access to literacy opportunities and foster lifelong learning.
In 2023, it broadened its K-3 Home Library program through a partnership with Scholastic to provide books at no cost to Tennessee children from birth through third grade. Earlier that year, in collaboration with the Tennessee Department of Education, it announced Opportunities with Literacy Fest, a traveling curated bookstore experience that will travel to 31 priority elementary schools across Tennessee.
