Goose Island Beer Company is a Chicago, Illinois-based craft brewery operating in the Food and Beverage Services industry. Founded in 1988 by John Hall after a European tour, it grew from a small production operation into a larger brewery with a bottling plant by 1995 and an additional brewpub by 1999. In 2011 it became part of Anheuser-Busch, and since then its beers have been distributed nationwide and internationally. The company blends European-influenced beer styles with an American craft approach, and it has historically invited visitors to observe the brewing process at the Chicago facility. In May 2026 Goose Island launched Bourbon County Brand Apple Crisp Stout.
