Goebbert's Farm & Garden Center operates as a seasonal farm market based in Crystal Lake, Illinois, with a family farming history stretching back to Arlington Heights. The enterprise grew when Jim Goebbert bought a 40-acre farm in South Barrington in 1972, and pumpkin sales by his children in the late 1970s expanded into a fall festival. In 1979, a fiberglass pumpkin named Happy Jack was installed on the silo, a feature that became a local landmark. The business later added a second location in Hampshire, IL, in 1985 to support the fall festival and broader farming operations.

Throughout the year, the company transitions from greenhouse growing and vegetable farming to a fresh produce stand for South Barrington, reflecting its seasonal strategy. The operation runs from mid-April through October 31, focusing on farm market activities, pumpkin and produce sales, and the accompanying fall festival.
