Gladstein, Reif & Meginniss, LLP has specialized in labor, employment and civil rights law since it was founded in 1976. The office is organized around the principal that workers and their organizations deserve top-quality legal representation just as much as corporations and large institutions that can pay top dollar for their lawyers. We are counsel to approximately two dozen local unions in the New York-New Jersey-Connecticut metropolitan area, and we represent several international unions on a regular basis. Our union clients represent workers in industries and fields including transit, health care, telecommunications, emergency services and higher education. We deal with all aspects of union representation: We advise unions on a wide variety of matters, conduct or assist in collective bargaining, and appear on behalf of unions in federal and state courts, as well as before the National Labor Relations Board, the New York State Public Employment Relations Board and other agencies and arbitration panels. A substantial part of our union practice is devoted to litigation, administrative proceedings and advice concerning organizing drives and corporate campaigns. In our capacity as counsel to employee benefit funds, we provide advice to trustees and fund managers and represent the funds in litigation. In addition to our union work, we represent workers in wage-and-hour litigation, individuals and classes of workers in civil rights litigation, and rank-and-file union members in union democracy cases. We do not represent management clients.
