The George Billis Gallery operates exhibition spaces in New York City and Los Angeles. The New York venue opened on March 25, 1997, and was the 12th gallery to open in the Chelsea Arts District. In 2004, the gallery expanded with a second location in Culver City, Los Angeles, extending its presence on the West Coast. 

The gallery showcases work by national and international artists at both emerging and established levels, targeting collectors and institutions interested in contemporary art. A May 2019 development notes the appointment of Jeffrey Vaughn and the display of his latest work at the New York location.
