Genome Alberta is a publicly funded not-for-profit organization based in Calgary, Alberta, founded in 2005. It acts as a convenor and catalyst, linking academic knowledge with government and industry to realize Alberta-made genomics solutions. The organization initiates, funds, and manages genomics research and partnerships and seeks to be a primary source of information and administration in genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, and bioethics research in Alberta. Its work serves students, researchers, research organizations, partners, and the public by informing them about opportunities and challenges in genomics and other omics fields, while supporting the development of a robust life sciences sector in the province. A recent development includes a leadership transition in 2025 with Geoff Pradella taking on the role of Chair.
