The Association for Accessible Medicines (AAM), formerly the Generic Pharmaceutical Association, is a Washington, DC-based trade organization in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector. It represents manufacturers and distributors of finished generic medicines and biosimilars, as well as suppliers of bulk chemicals and other goods and services to the generic industry. The group notes that generic medicines account for the majority of prescriptions in the United States while representing a smaller share of total drug spending.
