Galilee Episcopal Church is a parish in the Episcopal tradition serving the Virginia Beach community from a historic beachfront site. The congregation traces its origins to 1888, when vacationers gathered on the oceanfront to discuss creating a shared place of worship for Christians of different denominations; Episcopalians later purchased the chapel and named it Galilee by the Sea. Its guiding aim is to be a Christ-centered community that proclaims Jesus Christ and engages in worship, ministry, healing, and service.

Over the decades, the congregation relocated and expanded to its current site at 40th Street and Pacific Avenue. The church’s building history includes a 1926 brick-and-wood structure with Tucker Hall established as a memorial to Bishop Tucker, and a cornerstone laid for the present church in 1956. Renovations in 1988 added a chapel and large parish hall, and a 2002 expansion nearly doubled the space with a multipurpose room and facilities for youth and childcare. Today the church functions as a mid-sized congregation within the religious institutions sector, rooted in its history while supporting worship, ministry, and service for the Virginia Beach area.
