Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC) is a Georgia-based nonprofit that helps people with injuries and disabilities regain mobility and independence by refurbishing home medical equipment and providing home modifications at little or no cost. It refurbishes and reissues more than 700 home medical equipment items each month and diverts about 400 tons of materials from landfills annually, reflecting a strong reuse focus. The organization is accredited as a DMEPOS provider by HQAA, enabling Medicare Part B payments and signaling adherence to established quality standards. FODAC operates from Stone Mountain, serving Georgia and other states through programs that provide access to equipment and modifications for those in need. The Georgia Emergency Management Agency has named FODAC the statewide distributor of home medical equipment and assistive technology for large emergencies, coordinating with the American Red Cross of Georgia to supply items to shelters. In 2026, FODAC expanded its community engagement with a Home Medical Equipment Drive in Carrollton, organized in partnership with the Three Rivers Regional Commission.
