After over 30 years in the fresh produce business, most would start looking forward to slowing down, not Walter Vazquez, Sr. He realized that a tremendous need existed in South Florida, and together with his sons Walter Jr. and Jorge they opened Freedom Fresh in 2001. 

The goal was simple, to provide quality produce with the highest level of customer service in a state of the art facility. Together with a great team of employees, the Vazquez family has established Freedom Fresh as the premier fresh produce distributor in South Florida that has all the infrastructure of a national company, while maintaining the entrepreneurial spirit necessary to respond quickly to local needs. What began with a team of about thirty employees servicing wholesale and retail customers has grown into a full service produce operation with divisions responsible for foodservice, wholesale, retail, cruise ship, export and third party handling and storage in a 100,000 square foot facility with a team of over 170 employees.
