Food Fortification Initiative (FFI) works to advance fortification of commonly consumed grains—industrial wheat flour, maize flour, and rice—to improve nutritional outcomes. The organization helps country leaders plan, implement, and monitor large-scale fortification programs, applying evidence-based decision making to drive progress. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, FFI was founded in 2002 and operates as a public, private, and civic partnership hosted by Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. It is distinguished by focusing exclusively on these grains and by tracking both country-level and global progress in grain fortification. Its work targets government and public health stakeholders seeking scalable, cost-effective nutrition interventions to address widespread micronutrient deficiencies. In 2023, Fortify Health partnered with FFI to support wheat flour fortification in Indian government programmes.
