First Peoples Bank was organized in 1974 and opened for business January 2, 1975, as First Peoples Bank of Jefferson County, with a total of six employees. It is the oldest bank in Jefferson County. In early 1994, First Peoples Bank of Jefferson County officially changed its name to First Peoples Bank of Tennessee.
