Fincantieri Marine Group (FMG) is the United States division of FINCANTIERI, a long-established global shipbuilder. It operates three U.S. shipyards—Fincantieri Marinette Marine, Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding, and Fincantieri ACE Marine—each serving different segments of naval and commercial vessels. FMG works with in-house naval architecture and marine engineering to support both military and civilian programs, including the U.S. Navy's Freedom variant Littoral Combat Ship and the planned FFG(X) guided-missile frigate. ACE Marine concentrates on aluminum construction for small and medium boats and patrol vessels, especially for the U.S. Coast Guard. Bay Shipbuilding is a major U.S. merchant shipbuilder with a broad product spectrum from LNG bunkering and windfarm support vessels to ferries, self-unloaders, bulk carriers, OSVs, and more, and it leads repairs and conversions in the Great Lakes. In 2026, FMG announced a collaboration with Saildrone to develop an unmanned surface vessel for anti-submarine warfare.
