The Fédération Française du Bâtiment (FFB) serves as an umbrella body for the French construction sector, uniting firms of varying sizes to defend the profession's collective interests. It represents about 50,000 member enterprises, including around 35,000 artisanal businesses. Together, these firms account for roughly two-thirds of the sector's annual production of 166 billion euros before tax and employ about two-thirds of the industry's approximately 1.27 million workers. The federation's role centers on coordinating member voices to support the interests of the profession. The federation is based in Paris, within the Île-de-France region, and functions as a national organization for the building sector. In March 2026, Frédéric Carré was elected president following a board meeting held on March 20.
