The Fashion Law Institute is a nonprofit organization focused on the intersection of fashion and law, delivering education and legal services to fashion professionals and students. It positions itself as the world's first center devoted to fashion law and the business of fashion. Headquartered in New York City, it serves designers, lawyers, and design students by addressing their legal and informational needs related to fashion industry issues. The institute was founded by Professor Susan Scafidi, who pioneered fashion law, and she remains its academic director. It operates within Fordham School of Law, located across from Lincoln Center, and is supported by an advisory board drawn from the fashion industry and the legal profession. In 2021, the institute partnered with AMSL Avvocati to provide pro bono representation in a case.
