Leveraging their extensive track record of delivering significant contributions to the video industry, company founders, Yves Faroudja and Dr. Xu Dong established Faroudja Enterprises, Inc. in January, 2013. The company president, Yves Faroudja, is a three‐time Technical Emmy® winner and a SMPTE David Sarnoff award winner. The company is self‐funded and fully independently operated with 13 employees. The rapidly exploding market demand for Internet video bandwidth combined with slow transitioning to new compression standards, such as HEVC, beckons for new, disruptive solutions that can be implemented quickly, for both bandwidth management and to improve the quality of compressed video. Faroudja Enterprises has been awarded seven patents with additional patents-pending. Bitrate Reduction To address the issue of video bandwidth availability and usage, Faroudja Enterprises has developed the proven, yet novel F1 technology and platform that preserves image quality at a potential bitrate reduction of up to 50% with existing compression systems via the use of patented pre- and post-processing techniques. The solution interoperates with any video compression/codec, supports all resolutions, frame rates and color subsampling while operating on existing compute based platforms. Currently, six patents have been issued on this technology with five pending. Video Quality Improvement Technologies Faroudja Enterprises has developed three video quality improvement technologies specifically engineered to address the problems associated with compressed video. Each technology can be used independently, or in any combination required. Each improvement helps to deliver better looking video to viewers with minimal computational resources.
